Price
£3.99
Cornwall produced a amazing number of engineers and inventors, especially when the mining industry put is at the heart of the Industrial Revolution. Some such as William Murdoch, Humphry Davy and Richard Trevithick are well known, others, such as Sir Goldsworthy Gurney of Bude, much less so than they deserve.
The front cover shows Trevithick's locomotive 'Catch-me-who-can' operating as a visitor attraction in London in 1808. The back cover shows Dolcoath Mine.
