The West Country has more than its fair share of weird buildings. Cornwall can boast of a chapel sprouting from the rocks, Devon has the last castle built in England (in the twentieth century) as well as a pub built like a pack of cards, and Somerset has a lighthouse constructed on stilts.

And each county has follies, architectural whimsies and other strange structures well worth a visit.
