David Rust, born in Lincolnshire, studied at the Loughborough College of Art in the early 1960’s and for the last thirty five years has worked as a full time artist.

A prolific painter, totally dedicated to his vocation, he is a great lover of the English countryside particularly Cornwall where he has lived since 1990. The inspiration for David’s paintings comes from the constant observation of his surroundings recorded in sketch books and developed later in his studio. His work has been accepted regularly for the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour exhibitions at the Mall Gallery. David has exhibited widely in the South West and the Midlands where his work continues to enjoy popularity among discerning buyers and can be found in private collections, not only in this country, but as far afield as U.S.A., Japan and Australia.
