Peter Brooks experiments with many forms of glasswork which can include such things as copper or silver leaf, glass powders, steel wool and sometimes cooking ingredients found in the kitchen cupboard! Trapped between two pieces of glass different mediums can react and cause a variety of various effects and outcomes which can change with different temperature settings and rates of heating going as high as 950 degrees centigrade. Peter is self taught and feels that this may be beneficial finding interesting results which occasionally come from small errors, mistakes and not sticking to the rules.
In his work Peter believes that colours are what makes a piece of art appealing and the Cornish coastline, along with the unique changing landscape, is certainly the place to be to watch the ever changing hues of the skies, the land and the sea.
