After studying Fine Art at West Surrey College of Art and Design, Mike moved to Brighton, where he worked from various studios in and around the Old Lanes area. He moved to Cornwall in 1992 and began to exhibit his work regularly and has been painting full-time ever since.

Mike is an eclectic artist influenced by a broad range of painters from Claude Monet, Patrick Heron and William Turner to Mark Rothko. His inspiration comes from his daily interaction with the landscape and in conveying the feeling of a place more than its detail. His work is about the wonder of the world around us.
