Jamie Medlin is a highly regarded contemporary British marine artist, best known for his strikingly realistic oil paintings of yachts, seascapes, and the rugged coastlines of Cornwall. Born in Penryn, and now living in Falmouth, Cornwall, Jamie has developed a strong reputation in the international maritime art world for his exceptional attention to detail, technical skill, and deep understanding of light and movement on water.
Jamie studied Illustration at the Falmouth School of Art and Design. His formal training as an illustrator laid the foundation for the precision and clarity that define his work. After working as a commercial illustrator in London and Australia, he returned to Cornwall, where he transitioned fully into fine art, bringing his love of the sea and sailing into focus through painting.
One of Jamie's most notable sales was the painting "Return of the J-Class – Solent 2012", which sold at Christie’s for £127,250, far exceeding its estimate.
