Kate Richardson, originally from Guildford, came to Cornwall fifteen years ago and quickly fell in love with the place she now calls home. Working in oil, her paintings convey the drama of the Cornish landscape, often with heavy skies behind wind blown trees. Like many artists, her work carries an emotional element, which reflects her description of the process of painting as simultaneously cathartic, meditative, explorative and exhilarating.
